A script was written about transformation, to answer the question: Why do people transform, how do people transform? To examine the process that artists go through at various stages of their lives. I was a part of the team that brought this script to life, to create a buzz around Wellington's live performance scene- to enhance the vibe of Wellington's eclectic vibe and draw a greater interest in the city's nightlife tourism.
We chose to use the story of a comedian because comedians have that dissonance in them already, quite often they have a very dark side, and a very light one. And Brendan Lovegrove had already made his mark as a controversial performer in the New Zealand comedy scene. Using his celebrity, filming impromptu scenes at clubs, bars and in the streets, created an energy and conversation around the city.

We had good access into the comedian society of Wellington, which made the film accessible to make, and allowed us to use venues, and gave us virtually unlimited access to talent- ultimately reigniting a flame of interest in the city, in the nightlife, and Wellington's art scene on a whole.

Te Onetapu • Ruapehu | Aoteroea  On location for a scene on New Zealand's completely remote Desert Road linking the small towns of Turangi, on the North Island Volcanic Plateau in the Waikato region, and Waiouru, in the Ruapehu District. Te Onetapu is a barren, desert-like environment with inhospitable weather, uninhabited, unproductive land; frequently lashed by wind, that not only dry the desert but also blast exposed plants, causing wind-burn at any time of the year and often freeze-burn during the cold months.
